I have looked at a few help programs that can produce both WinHelp and HTMLHelp, but I didn't really like any of them as much as I like Helpmatic. And being able to produce both types from a single source isn't a big priority for me, so I'll probably stick with my old Helpmatic for my existing WinHelp projects and buy the HTML version for new projects.

I needed to build a help file for my latest utility and wasn't sure how, as of Friday. Saturday I did some research, and downloaded your program. Today, Sunday, I have a funtioning 'Help'! I was so pleased that I logged on today and actually paid you for it - what greater accolade can one pay to a shareware program? <g> Honestly, I don't know how your program compares in usability and features to the commercial programs. I only know that it did everything I needed it to do - and didn't cost several hundred dollars! Thanks for the, er, 'Help'.

I've been using Pro HTML product for a few hours now, and I really like it. Frankly, it's worth far more to me than the $50 you're charging. When I'm buying something I don't know much about (this is my first shot at developing help files), I often simply rely on the price as an indicator of goodness. So, if you raise your price a little above your competitors, you may see an increase in sales. You deserve it!

Great job with your program. We were VERY pleased and were able to create the attached help file with virtually no learning curve whatsoever. We used Dreamweaver for the source files as we're comfortable with that already, and that made it SO simple and intuitive since we didn't have to learn to use another editor. No need to reinvent the wheel! :-)

So many people ask me for help guides on the spreadsheet solutions I do for them. Up until now, I've riddled the spreadsheets with cell comments, or created separate User Guide sheets. They would have to visually search through lengthy sheets for information on the task they're trying to remember how to do. I can't help it, I'm a habitual feedback writer! It's just that I often feel compelled to contact software publishers because most of the software that I come across makes me think of dozens of ways it could be improved. Not so with Helpmatic. You did an awesome job. I want to play with it for another day or two before I purchase it, but I've tried about half a dozen help writers over the last two days and I can't see any reason why I'd want to pay more when Helpmatic is better than most and as good as any of them.
